What to watch:
The Donut King Documentary
Why? The rise of Ted Ngoy and how he created the Cambodian donut empire in Los Angeles is truly inspirational. But Ted’s story also shows the very human side of entrepreneurship and that founders are people with flaws, not just memes about failure or success. I wrote more of my thoughts on Medium
What to read:
The Power of a Positive No
by William Ury
Why? Possibly the most powerful word in entrepreneurship is “No.” Saying“No,” allows you to say “Yes” to something that leads you towards your vision. Learning the right way to say “No” and understanding how other people may react or try to convince you to change your mind is incredibly helpful, especially for entrepreneurs with people-pleasing tendencies.

Clarity tip:
Use a cash flow forecasting tool like this one to help you to make decisions based on your numbers, not your gut. If you have an accountant running your numbers, you still need to understand all of them. Test: Can you answer the question, “What’s your break even point?”

Thoughts:
Don’t worry if someone else has your idea because there are no new ideas.
“We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations.”
Mark Twain
What new and curious combinations are you creating this week?
